Heritage Walk at Tughluqabad : The Cursed City

History is full of those who through sheer grit and determination rose from humble beginnings to become Kings and Sultans. One such story is that of Ghazi Malik, Sultan Alauddin Khilji’s commander who ushered in a new dynastic era in the history of Delhi by establishing the Tughluq rule. The massively fortified fourth city of Delhi is unique due to it’s impregnable walls. But how did a Sultan’s obsession become a curse so powerful to befall this city that even today it echoes in it’s abandoned ramparts.

Join the Karavan as Asif Khan Dehlvi traces stories of this cursed city, stories of a Sufi and a Sultan.
About Tughluqabad: The fort was built by Sultan Ghiyasuddin Tughluq (1321-1325 AD) in 1321 AD. It is sprawled across an area covering 6 square kilometers.
