As the Karavan walks around the ruins of the fifth city, you will find yourself mesmerized by stories of mysticism, legend and history. Here, in the City of Djinns you will witness how belief holds such strong bearing, sometimes even surpassing logic.. and devotees write letters, stick coins on the walls, offering sweets and milk to appease the unhappy spirits.
As we walk through the Khooni Darwaaza that has withstood the rise and fall of empires, a testament to the bloodshed from where it shares its name, we enter the complex built by Ferozeshah Tughluq in the year 1354. It has the ruins of a palace, a baoli, dungeon cells. Amidst this all, the Asokan pillar stands tall as if a witness to the history that flowed through here, like the Yamuna once did.
