Exploring Madhi Masjid and Azim Khan’s Tomb: A Monsoon Heritage Walk

Being the first city of Delhi, Mehrauli has an extensive history and is, therefore, studded with umpteen structures and landmarks – all of which have their own stories to tell. In this unique heritage walk, we will visit two of such lesser-known hidden gems.
Our walk would cover a forgotten mosque – Madhi
Masjid – that is situated very close to the Qutub Minar Metro Station and adjacent to the Mehrauli Archeological Park but quite easily skipped from being noticed. An unusual medieval mosque that is believed to have served two purposes.
Standing at the Lado Sarai signal, an old heritage structure on a hilltop must have aroused your curiosity and interest. We’ll walk up to this mystical tomb (of Azim Khan) that once formed the Metcalfe Battery House, dive in its history as we listen to stories and anecdotes and enjoy the breathtaking view of Mehrauli that it offers.
