This weekend our heritage walk will take us to two sites: first the dargah of Hazrat Sheikh Yusuf Qattal, a 16th-century Lodhi-era monument where, even today, during Holi colours are offered at the saint’s tomb (mazar) as a mark of devotion. We will then visit the Satpula Dam — the seven arches of its water channels now mostly dry. Once, the canals of the Tughlaqs ran through them, and on their banks a Diwali fair lit the night.
