What to expect
Heritage Walk at Feroz Shah Kotla
Dil Dilli December
As temperatures plummet and the Delhi air becomes slightly more breathable, the next heritage walk in our Dil, Dilli, December series sets out to explore another historical city from the Tughlaq era. The fifth city of Delhi, Feroz Shah Kotla. Built by Sultan Feroz Shah Tughlaq in 1354, the complex houses the ruins of a grand fortress, a baoli (step well), a dungeon, and not to forget the mighty Ashokan pillar. Shrouding these mesmerizing structures, are stories that evoke mysticism, devotion and spirituality. Here legends often surpass logic, and jinns inhabit the ancient stones.
