This time let’s set foot in the ruins of one of the oldest cities of Delhi – Lal Kot. As the first urban settlement of Delhi, once ruled by Rajputs, Tomars, Chauhans, Mamluks, and Khiljis, Lal Kot has witnessed the rise and fall of many dynasties and empires leaving behind many remnants scattered across the city. Once such vast expanse of ruins is the Qila E Rai Pithora nestled in the modern plush neighbourhood of Saket. Undoubtedly it conceals generations of history and heritage – some which have remained while others that have silently eroded from our collective memories.
