What to expect
Dil Dilli December
In our last two heritage walks of the Dil Dilli December series we explored two cities from the Tughlaq era – Jahapanah and Feroz Shah Kotla. It is time now for us to focus our attention on the third fortified city of Delhi, Tughlaqabad. Built in 1321 AD by Sultan Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq, the founder of the Tughlaq dynasty, the city once fell victim to a curse – a Sultan’s obsession turned calamity – that now haunt its abandoned ramparts. To pay an ode to a dynasty that ruled for close to a century, we will walk through the vestiges of this once mighty city exploring tales of a Sufi, a Sultan, and a city bound by a curse.
